BluePearl Distillerie is a new distillery in Montreal producing craft spirits with a modern look and unique taste.
BluePearl's story has a modest and rather clandestine beginning. It all began in the bedroom of a small apartment in Montreal's Villeray district.
Co-founders Karl and Jonathan had known each other all their lives. One day, Karl developed a passion for beer as he began brewing during his chemical engineering studies in Sherbrooke. Jonathan, on the other hand, was more interested in alcohol distillation.
One day, a young man shows up at Jonathan's place to visit the upstairs apartment. It's Francis. When he signed the lease with Jonathan, Francis took a look at the fermentation containers, and asked to taste the final product. The verdict was conclusive: the entrepreneurial spark had already ignited in Francis.
With Karl's technical know-how, Jonathan's passion for distillation, and his leadership, Francis suggests they join forces to create a new distillery. By mutual agreement, the trio embarked on the adventure.
That's how Jonathan Perlstein, Karl Fortin and Francis Bluteau became partners and co-founded BluePearl Distillery in 2017.
